Hospital visitors can use park and ride service
1:10pm Tuesday 21st February 2012
RESIDENTS are being reminded they can use a regular park and ride service when visiting Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
People can use W3 and 31C buses when attending appointments or visiting family and friends.
The buses leave the Sixways depot, home of Worcester Warriors and just a couple of minutes from junction six of the M5, at regular intervals from 6.44am until 6.30pm every weekday. The journey, outgoing and return, usually takes around ten to fifteen minutes.
Visitors taking advantage of the service can get bargain tickets that include parking and return travel for just £2.20 for one person, rising to no more £3.50 in total for up to seven people.
All of the buses have low floor for easy access making things easier for those with wheelchairs and pushchairs. Anyone with a blue badge and concessionary travel pass can park and travel for free after 9.30am.
Further information and full timetables are available at worcestershire.gov.uk/parkandride Councillor John Smith OBE, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "Thousands of people from across the county visit Worcestershire Royal Hospital each week. The regular park and ride services are there to help those make their journeys stress free.
"I'd like to encourage anyone who hasn't yet used the service to give it a try next time they travel to the hospital. It's quick, convenient and reliable."
