Droitwich library to host charity art exhibition

3:50pm Monday 6th February 2012

A WOMAN who took up painting just two years ago is holding an exhibition in Droitwich Library to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

Pauline Cartwright, 64, from Worcester, will be staging the exhibition called ‘Meanderings’ at the Victoria Square library until February 23 during normal opening hours.

She took up painting two years ago after being given some paint and canvas by her daughter, Emma Cartwright. ‘Meanderings’ is an abstract collection of heavily textured paintings in muted colours. Paintings range in price from £10 to £40 with half the proceeds being donated to St Richard’s in memory of Andrew Caldicott.

She said: “My father passed away in St Richard’s Hospice four years ago. We are so grateful for the wonderful care that not just he received but the whole family. I have taken part in the hospice Midnight Walks to raise funds before but we thought the exhibition would be a good way of raising even more funds.”

St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families. For more information visit strichards.org.uk
